Services for David Corley 79, of Grants, New Mexico will be held Tuesday-September 11, 2007-11:00 AM at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Milan, New Mexico. Pastor Garland Moore will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Monday-September 10, 2007-5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.
Mr. Corley was born on September 16, 1927 in Clarksville, Texas and passed away on September 6, 2007 in Grants, New Mexico. He was a Service Station owner in Window Rock, Arizona for years.
He is survived by his children from his first Union: Delores Corley of Turnnock, California, Ernestine Corley Holman of Albuquerque, New Mexico, David Corley, Jr., of San Carlos, California, Doris Jewell Corley Evans, of Sacramento, California, Vernon Ray Corley of Madera, California, Vera Mae Corley Hill of Redwood City, California, 18 grandchildren 21 Great Grandchildren and 1 great great Grandchild; his 2nd Union:Ella Mae Corley and children form 2nd union: Phillip Corley of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Louella Corley of Houston, Texas, Priscilla Cook, Patricia Richards, Pamela Richardson, and Phillis Shorty, 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild: brothers: Eddie B. Corley, Sr. of Milan, New Mexico, Milton Corley of Seattle, Washington, and James Corley of Phoenix, Arizona; Sisters: Esther Wadley of Sacramento, California, Ida Bell Bell of Dallas, Texas, Ruth Smith of Dallas, Texas, Verena Smith of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Etolia Wherry of Wichita Falls, Texas and Opal Melton of Milan New Mexico and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: C.J. Corley and Eva Derrick Corley; Brothers: Alonzo Corley and Oscar Corley; Sister: Lesby Jones; 1st union Ada Mae Sparks; son: Oscar Corley; Granddaughter: Ada Marie Bell.
Pallbearers will be: Eddie Corley, Jr., Kaul D. Corley, Stacey Corley, Wayne Melton, Willie Henderson, Don Saye, and Willie Jones.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Nephews, and great nephews.
