Nez was born on December 16, 1991, in Logan, Utah, into the Edge Water and Towering House clans with his grandfathers Oneida Wolf and Zia People. Nez transcended to the Sky People as a new Guardian Angel on August 18, 2022, while in Tohatchi, New Mexico. Nez is son to Wilbert & Ramona Nez, Cheryl, Valarie, and Harley, brother to Steven, Celine, Christina, Avery, Lauren, Taylen, Sierra, Skylar, and Lillian, grandson to the Guardian Angel Wilbe Antone, Etta M. Antone, Wilfred Nez and Darlene Nez.

As a baby his first laugh was with his mom, while living in Logan, UT. He soon moved to Flagstaff and attended Head Start to 9th grade while in Flagstaff, AZ. He also attended Tohatchi, Thoreau, Gallup and Central High Schools. He joined the basketball teams and cross-country teams. He had intense physical endurance and a fast runner. He attended Coconino Community College for 18 months. On Nez's own initiative he applied with the US Department of the Interior Indian Affairs Navajo Interagency Hotshot Crew in Fort Defiance, AZ. Nez served for five years as a Forest Fire Fighter Hotshot and Scout. His duties included injury prevention, current on trainings, first-aid responder, sawyer, fire watch, and front-line firefighting to hold the line. This work is physically and mentally challenging. While working he traveled near and far and had the chance to see the country. Typically, the hotshot crew would be on duty for 14 days straight and 3 days off. He seemed to be on the go. Rushing. He built a bond among crew members. He worked to save strangers homes, building structures, forest, animals and delivered essential supply to communities in need. Through this work he was able to buy multiple cars. Cars that went fast. Also have multiple dates with young ladies. He was proficient with solving math problems, well read, and interested in learning the Navajo, Oneida and Spanish languages. Nez enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, fishing, reading and working on his car. The past year was challenging he is a fighter and survivor with the challenges he faced. He carried corn pollen and had his prayers. He welcomed prayers from his family and friends.

May Nez be at peace and joy to reunite with love ones passed and serve among our Sky People as a new Guardian Angel. Thank you, Nez for spending time and life among us while here on Mother Earth.

Until we meet again, you will live on daily in our heart, mind, memories, and tears. We miss and loves you.
