Memorial Rosary and Funeral Mass for Claudio Edmundo Blea 83 of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Thursday-September 26, 2019-10:30AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.



Claudio was born on November 28, 1935 in Cerro, New Mexico to the home of Amada and Gaspar Blea. He made his journey home to Heaven on September 19, 2019 in Grants, New Mexico.



He moved his family from Colorado in 1960 during the mining industry boom. He worked as an under ground miner for 25 years with Ker McGee. Claudio joined the Army when he was 17 years old and he served 3 years. He was sent to Korea, then the war ended and was transferred to Japan. He was a Private 1st Class, light weapons Infantry man. He received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good conduct Medal and Korean Service Medal. He was a loving Dad and Grandpa and husband and will be greatly missed.



He is survived by his son: Claudio Blea, Jr.; Daughters: Annette Blea, Roberta Marquez, Alice Garcia; Sister: Frances Duran of Greeley, Colorado; His Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.



He is preceded in death by his Wife: Rebecca Consuelo " Gallegos" Blea; Son: Michael Blea; Parents: Gaspar Blea and Amada "Martinez" Blea; Son-in-law: Melvin Marquez; Brothers: Emillio Blea, Soloman Blea, Armando Blea, Honorio Blea; Sisters: Teofila, Lucialle, and Elsie.
