On Saturday, December 10th, 2022, Charles Elwin Bond passed away at the age of 94-years-old in the home he built. He is survived by his wife Ellen Bond, his daughter Neysa Cox, his five grandchildren, and great granddaughter.
When his father passed away in an accident, Elwin, as a teenager, promised his father that he would look after the family, which Elwin did. Elwin dedicated his life to making the life of his family better. He was a steward of his family's land and worked for the highway to keep the roads safe. His empathy and care for others passed onto his daughter who teaches dental assistants at UNM Gallup and to his adult grandchildren who have defended this country, work in healthcare, and research and teach others about inequality. His legacy is profound.
To celebrate his life and to thank him for the unconditional love he expressed to many of us, his family are holding a public service at 10 am Saturday, December 17th, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ramah, NM.
