Funeral Mass for Carmen M. Chavez 89, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-January 8, 2011-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will officiate.
A Rosary will be held on Friday-January 7, 2011-7:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.
Carmen was born on May 3, 1921 in Puerticito, New Mexico and she passed away on January 5, 2011 in Grants, New Mexico.
She is survived by her children: Merced Chavez, of Grants, New Mexico, Joseph Chavez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gerald Chavez and wife Elizabeth of Las Vegas, Nevada, Esperanza Lackey of Pittsburg, Texas, Dianna Quintana and husband Phillip of Pecos, New Mexico.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Jose Chavez; Parents: Jose Maria Montano and Benita Garcia Montano; Brothers: Tony Medina and Estvan Garcia.
Pallbearers will be:Fred Isaac Padilla, Frank Sena, Julian Chavez, Harold Duran, John Duran, and Leroy Duran.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Good Samaritan Center or Heartland Hospice in memory of Carmen.
