Funeral Services for Betty J. Chaco, 71, of Thoreau, New Mexico will be held on Monday-August 1, 2005-11:00 AM at the Family Home RA 109 State Highway 371, 1 Mile North of the Rainbird Trading Post in Thoreau, New Mexico. Burial will be held at the same place. Pastor Jimson Lee will officiate.
Mrs. Chaco was born on November 29, 1933 in Thoreau, New Mexico into the Sage Brush Hill People and for the Apache People. She passed away on July 27, 2005 in Crownpoint, New Mexico. She had been a homemaker all of her life. She liked to attend church and sang at revivals and enjoyed tending her livestock. In her younger years she was employed as a Silversmith.
She is survived by her husband: Nelson Chaco of Thoreau, New Mexico; Sons: Paulson Chaco and Dennison Chaco both of Thoreau, New Mexico; Daughters: Joleen Chaco of Gallup, New Mexico, Dora Beyal of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Brother: Henry Joe of Thoreau, New Mexico; 11Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother: Marie Nelson Joe; Brothers: Tom Joe, and Joe Calvin; Sisters: Mary Benally and Alice Gibson.
Pallbearers will be: Sebastian Chaco, Alexander Williams, Justine Chaco, Paddy Martinez, Melvin Williams, and Henry Joe
Honorary pallbearer; Bobby Martinez, Senator John Pinto, James Chaco, and Phillip Joe.
