Services for Bernard J. "Zeke" Bustos, Jr., of Cibola County, N.M., will include a Visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, Grants, N.M., on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014.
The Funeral Mass at the Church will follow the Visitation. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Grants.
Zeke was born on Sept. 28, 1964, to Bernie and Carolyn Bustos.
He passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, and made his way to heaven.
Zeke had an extensive radio career, which began at the tender age of 12. He worked for various radio stations, such as KMIN, KCIB, Immaculate Heart, and local radio stations as a DJ and an engineer.
He gave back to the community through his coaching, his membership in the Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, Sons of the American Legion, and his participation in Toys For Tots, the Winter Quad, and other groups to name a few.
Love for his family was second to none. He went to the ends of the Earth for his girls. Surrounded by his wife and daughters, his love and protection knew no bounds.
Zeke was a loving, kind, protective husband to Jeanenne for 32 years; a dad to Mandy (Paul), Kaci, and Kelsey; brother to Colleen Bustos (Ken), Tery (Darlene), Cary (Victoria), and Anthony (Mona). He is also survived by his father: Bernie Bustos, Sr.; mother-in-law: Pauline Chavez; brother-in-law: Wayne Sabroe; sister-in-law: Cindi Steveck (Chris); and was called Papa by his grandchildren: ShyAnne, Shawn, Shayne, Josiah, and Alexa; and Zeke is survived as well by many godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Carolyn; and his sister: Debbie.
