Funeral Mass for Benjamin Chavez 73, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-April 12, 2008-9:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will be held at Grants Memorial Park with full Military Honors by the VFW Lodge 3221. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant.



Vistation will be held on Friday-April 11, 2008-2:00-5:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Friday April 11, 2008-7:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.



Mr. Chavez was born on June 6, 1934 in Grants, New Mexico and passed away on April 9, 2008 in Grants, New Mexico. He was retired from the US Air Force and the Army. He was a life member of the VFW Post 3221.



He is survived by his wife: Clara Ann Chavez of Grants, New Mexico; Children: Diana Lynne McIntosh and husband Kirk of Austin, Texas, Benjamin Michael Chavez and Jill Lujan of San Rafael, New Mexico, Lawrence P. Chavez and wife Debbie of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mary Michelle Garcia and husband Joe of Buckeye, Arizona and Melissa Chavez of Grants, New Mexico; Sisters: Helen Dayan of Milan, New Mexico,Delene Baca of Grants, New Mexico, Corrine Chavez of Las Vegas, Nevada, Tillie Padilla of Grants, New Mexico; and grandchildren: Julia McIntosh and Victor McIntosh both of Austin Texas, Daniel Reyes Chavez of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jolena Garcia of Buckeye, Arizona.



He is preceded in death by his parents: Pantaleon Chavez and Mernciana Blea Chavez; Daughter: Martinez Chavez; Sisters: Chona Mirabal, Lou McBride, Bonnie Trujillo; Brothers: Eddie Chavez and Arnold Chavez.



Pallbearers will be: Lawrence P. Chavez, Benjamin Chavez, Kirk McIntoch, Joe Garcia, Daniel Reyes Chavez, Victor McIntosh and Jerrel Harvey.



Honorary Pallbearers will: Jolena Garcia, Julia McIntosh, and his nephews.
