Rosary and Funeral Mass for Benito Martinez Salazar 79, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico will be held on Friday-July 5, 2013-10:00 AM at the San Mateo Catholic Church. Burial with full Military Honors by the VFW Lodge 3221 will follow at the San Mateo Community Cemetery.



Benito was born on February 6, 1934 in San Mateo, New Mexico and he passed away on July 1, 2013 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a Veteran on the US Airforce serving in World War II and retired from Kerr McGee Mines.



He is survived by his wife: Merlinda Salazar of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Children: Richard Salazar and wife Michelle of Albuqueruqe, New Mexico, David Salazar of San Mateo, New Mexico and Lydia Marquez and husband Adrian of Seboyeta, New Mexico; Brothers: Herman Salazar of San Mateo, New Mexico and Edwin Salazar of Milan, New Mexico; Sister: Patricia Sandoval of San Mateo, New Mexico; 9 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.



He is preceded in death by his parents: Lizardo Salazar and Florentina Martinez Salazar; Brothers: Ramon Salazar, Remigo Salazar and David Salazar; Sisters: Gloria Virginia Salazar, Maggie Baca, Rita Martinez and Precilla Salazar.



Pallbearers will be: Jerry Sanchez, Rick Salazar, Joseph Salazar, Marcos Marquez, Gabiel Sanchez, Mike Cordova.



Honorary Pallbearers will be: Edwin Salazar, Gabe Lopez, Johnny Gonzales, Leo Chavez and Freddy Gomez.
