Services for Andrew Joseph Kiefer, 31, of Bluewater, N.M., will include a Visitation at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 500 E. High St., Grants. A Rosary will follow at 7 p.m. at the church.
A celebration of the Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at St. Teresa of Avila Catolic Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park, Roosevelt Avenue.
Andrew was born on Oct. 18, 1981, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Patti Lynn (Bateman) Kiefer and Michael Leo Kiefer.
He passed away on Jan. 31, 2013, in Bluewater.
Andrew was the youngest of three children.
He was an amazing father to his daughter LaRae Otero and a loyal and caring man to his fiance, Marsha Otero.
He was blessed to have the honor of being a godparent to Devin Fraiser, Angel Chavez, and his niece Mia Rose.
Although Andrew was faced with many great physical battles . . . more battles than most of us will ever have to face in our lifetime, he was always able to smile and laugh and live his life to the fullest.
From traveling to snowboarding, sky diving to boating, Andrew enjoyed and appreciated the time God gave him here on Earth.
We will remember him for his charismatic ways, his positive attitude, his amazing and charming smile, his baby-blue eyes, his contagious laugh and his determination and strong will to overcome his life struggles and challenges and to always be able to say, "Everything is gonna be okay."
He will be deeply loved and missed by his family and friends.
Andrew is survived by his mother: Patti Kiefer, of Bluewater; fiance: Marsha Otero of Los Lunas, N.M., and her daughter: LaRae Otero; brother: Leo Kiefer, of Bluewater; sister: Leslie Kiefer, of Albuquerque; grandmother: Rita Bateman, of Sharon, Penn.; and niece: Mia Rose.
He was preceded in death by his father: Michael Kiefer; grandfathers: Calvin Bateman and Leo Kiefer; and grandmother: Margaret Kiefer.
Pallbearers will be: Anthony Jaramillo, Matt Vigil, Robert Mantano, Alvino Sandoval, Joseph Abeyta, Angel Chavez, Eugene Martinez and Alfred Rael.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Paul Bateman Nicholas Dee, and Jonathan Holman.
