Alfred Hite

June 30, 1937 — April 27, 2013

A Celebration of Life Service for Alfred C. Hite 75, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-May 4, 2013-1:00 PM at the Grace Baptist Church in Milan, New Mexico. Pastor Dale Thatcher will officiate, a fellowship reception to follow.



Alfred was born on June 30, 1937 in Arapaho, Oklahoma to John and Alice Hite. He went home to be with the Lord on Saturday-April 27, 2013 surrounded by family at his home in Grans, New Mexico. Together with his three brothers, Alfred grew up on a ranch near Bingham, New Mexico where in 1945 they witnessed the testing of the first atomic bomb.



Alfred married Shelby Grinder in 1959 and moved to Grants, New Mexico where they raised their 2 sons, Lee and Nolen Hite.



Alfred was an incredibly hard worker, devoting much of his working life to driving trucks, and eventually starting his own transportation business.



Alfred was talented at many things, especially enjoying building with intricate designs of cedar wood. He was a man with a sprit stronger than most, and loved by many. He will be deeply missed, and his family and friends treasure the abundant memories they have of him.



Alfred is survived by his loving wife: Shelby; Sons: Lee and Nolen Hite; Grandchildren: Amanda, Lauren and Marshall Hite; Brothers: John and Lake Hite.



In lieu of flowers a donation in Alfred's name is suggested to the New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch (www.theranches.org)
