A celebration of life for Alejo Griego 92, of Grants, New Mexico will be held Friday-August 21, 2015-Viewing with respects will start at 9:00 AM the Rosary will start at 10:00 AM and the Funeral Mass will start at 10:30 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.
Alejo was born on April 30, 1923 in Sena, New Mexico and he passed away on August 18, 2015 in Grants, New Mexico. Alejos family relocated to this area and ran the Florspar Mines in the Zuni's he met Mela Sarraciono and married. Soon after he advanced his skills and career as a very coveted welder and Machinist working at Anaconda Company where he retired. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Alejo had a great love for his family, he enjoyed his life, and he loved God and his Church and neighbors.
He is survived by his 4 Sons and 2 daughters: Alex E. Griego, Jr. and wife Maria of Grants, New Mexico, Ida Boissoneau of Ontario, Canada, Luis Griego and wife Lola of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jose Griego and wife Jennifer of Milan, New Mexico, Frances Hilton and husband Loye of Aztec, New Mexico, Paul Griego and wife Angela of Grants, New Mexico; Sister: Josie Bustamonte and husband Onesimo of Belen, New Mexico; Alejo dearly loved each of his 24 Grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Loving Wife: Mela Sarracino Griego; Parents: Clemente Griego and Josefita Gonzales Griego; Brothers: Meliton Griego, Adam Griego, Jose Griego, Luis Griego, Benigno Griego and Manuel Griego, Estevan Griego; Sister: Margarita Chavez.
Pallbearers will be: David Griego, Greg Boissoneau, Andrew Griego, Leonard Griego, David Powell and Pablo Griego.
