Alejandro (Hondo) A. Torrez Jr, known fondly as Hondo, was born on May 2, 1975, in Grants, New Mexico. He left this world on December 17, 2024, in Sun City, Arizona, but his vibrant spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.
Hondo was not just a name; he was a force of joy and laughter. His charming personality brought warmth to every gathering, encapsulating the essence of kindness and resilience. His humorous stories painted smiles on the faces of both young and old alike, reminding us all of the beauty in our shared moments. Above all, his deep love for his family defined him. Hondo's strength, loyalty, and undeniable warmth were etched in the hearts of those lucky enough to have shared in his life.
He leaves behind a loving family: his children, Andres and Britnie (daughter-in-law) Torrez, Gabriella Torrez, Enriquez Jaramillo, and Arianna Jaramillo, who will carry on his legacy of laughter and love. Hondo's memory will be cherished by his brothers and sisters: Pauline (Anthony) Chavez, Margaret (Orlando) Chavez, James (Joanna) Torrez, Juan (Jessica) Torrez, Veronica (Raymond) Montano, Nadine (Roger) Rodriguez, Cathrine (Melchor) Erives, Jackie Torrez, and Alexandra (Edward) Veloz. He will also be remembered by his brother-in-law Antonio Cardenas and sister-in-law Tamara Bartunek Torrez, along with many nieces and nephews, who looked up to him with admiration and love.
Hondo now joins his beloved family members in eternal peace: his father, Andres Alejandro; his mother, Maria Magdalena Montoya Torrez; his sister, Rebecca Cardenas; his brothers, Joel and Jessie Torrez; his niece, Yvonne Chavez; and his nephew, Rudy Gallegos. Though they have departed from this life, their bond remains unbroken, intertwined with Hondo’s memory.

Hondo may have left this earthly realm, but his spirit remains embedded in the hearts of those he loved. As we gather to celebrate his life and the indelible mark he left on us, let us remember the laughter, the strength, and the enduring love that he shared so freely. He will forever be missed but never forgotten.
