Adelaida Martinez

Adelaida (Lala) Martinez was received in the arms of our Lord on February 28, 2012 in Phoenix, Arizona. Lala was 83 and was born to Antonio and Rosabel in Vallecitos, New Mexico on June 19, 1928. She loved flowers, her dogs, music, and her family very much; she would talk and take anybody in. She will be greatly missed.



Funeral Services will be held on Monday-March 5, 2012-7:00PM at the Church of Christ, 920 N. 1st Street in Grants, New Mexico.



Viewing will be held at the church from 6:00 PM till 7:00 PM. Matt Clark will officiate. She will be laid to rest with her husband on Tuesday-March 6, 2012-11:15 AM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.



She is survived by her Son: Juan Martinez and wife Berna of Grants, New Mexico; Daughters: Maria (Nena) Martinez of Milan, New Mexico, Matilda (Matty) Garcia and husband Alfredo of Phoenix, Arizona, Louella (Lou) Martinez of Phoenix, Arizona; Brother: Adelaido Martinez and wife Mary Alice of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Sister: Manuelita (Mannie) Martinez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 16 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews.



She is preceded in death by her Husband: Juan I. Martinez; Son: Julian Martinez; Parents: Antonio and Rosabel Martinez; Brothers: Antonio Martinez, Jr., Alcadio Martinez and Alfredo Martinez; Sister: Rose Griego.



Pallbearers will be: Johnny Martinez, Joshua Martinez, Daniel Quezada, Carlos Quezada, Jose Nava, Amos Nava, Julian Martinez, Jr., and Michael Garcia.



Honorary Pallbearers will be: Julie Cooper, Jeanne Martinez, Amanda Nava, Jessica Quezada, Anita Sena, Teresa Martinez, Jere Cooper, and Dominic Martinez.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
