Abe Edward Jaramillo
Abe Edward Jaramillo, a lifelong resident of Grants, NM was born on April 12, 1946, and died November 9, 2023, at age 77. Visitation for Abe will begin at 10 am at Mt. Taylor Funeral Home with a service to follow. Interment will be at Grants Memorial Park and a reception will follow at VFW Post 3221.
Abe was an avid bowler and participated in bowling leagues and tournaments continuously for more than fifty years. He also enjoyed tinkering with model cars and trains, doing yardwork and gardening, and supporting his favorite team, The Dallas Cowboys. But what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends.
Abe had a varied list of skills and work history, including house painting, firefighting, cooking, custodial and maintenance work. Some of the companies he worked for were Whites Filling Station, Homestake Mining, Grants Senior Center, Grants/Cibola Schools, and St. Teresa School.
Abe leaves behind his wife of 35 years: Thecla {Teddy} Jaramillo of the couple's home in Grants; son: Anthony Jaramillo (Michelle) of Milan, NM; daughter: Kristina Jaramillo of Milan, NM; stepdaughter: Tina Antonio of Grants; step-son: Willy (Denise) of Albuquerque; brothers: Juan Jaramillo (Benita) of Albuquerque, Leroy Jaramillo (Denise) of Albuquerque, and Bernie Jaramillo of Fremont, CA; sister: Charlotte Jaramillo of Fremont, CA; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Abe was preceded in death by his parents: Leo and Agapita Jaramillo; and his brothers: Manuel Jaramillo and Albert Jaramillo.
Pall bearers: AJ Jaramillo, Lukas Jaramillo, Carlos Gonzales, Nathan Jaramillo, Willy Antonio, and Samuel Antonio. Mt. Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
